Our annual HE Space Utilisation Comparison Reporting Service focuses on providing our clients with an additional reporting service that compares their teaching space utilisation survey and timetabling analysis results with that recorded by other institutions. This includes a range of data analysis techniques, all focused on providing genuinely useful comparative analysis results and presented in clear tables and graphs within a consultancy report that our clients can use to determine how they compare against other institutions.
All data is anonymised with standardised names applied (i.e. Institution A) and basic institution biographies provided (also anonymised). Each biography includes key survey and institution details that our clients can view in order to determine those institutions that are similar/dissimilar to themselves.
We carry out this reporting service annually once Semester 2 has ended, with this service including both our teaching space utilisation survey clients as well as other HE institutions that have collected occupancy data through different means, but have abided by our data requirements. This ensures data quality is maintained and with us carrying out the data analysis, we can ensure all results have been calculated using our standardised techniques.
We will also be providing a free-to-attend Space Utilisation Best Practice Workshop in Bristol on July 25th, 10:00-15:00 for all members of the HE Space Utilisation Comparison Reporting Service, that have signed up to be members by June 28th 2019. During this workshop we will be presenting several key and common issues that we have raised via our space utilisation survey reports over the last academic year. Each issue presented will then also include a group discussion, with the aim of discussing how different institutions currently look to tackle this issue, any problems members face in doing so, and then finally agreeing a best practice approach that each member can use to tackle the issue over the coming year.
For the 2017/18 annual HE Space Utilisation Comparison Reporting Service, 13 HE institutions opted to to be included.
