We offer education institutions an experienced office utilisation survey and consultancy service, using desk and meeting room sensor technology and/or a manual occupancy survey service to determine how office and meeting space is being utilised.
Desk and Meeting Room Sensor Technology
Our desk and meeting room sensor technology, along with a set of online data analytics tools, provide our clients with a detailed, high quality and real-time data set for the entire period of installation, with this live data being available to view at any time.
This technology enables us to provide individual desk occupancy and meeting room analysis throughout all hours (and minutes) of the day.
Manual Occupancy Survey
For our manual occupancy survey service, our office survey assistants record desk and meeting space occupancy for all identified spaces.
All our staff have been individually selected and trained in-house helping to ensure that the survey is carried out professionally and accurately, whilst causing minimal disruption.
Data Analysis and Consultancy Report
Each office utilisation survey can also include a detailed consultancy report that analyses the survey findings and provides conclusions and recommendations focused on helping our clients to meet their objectives.
Our sector expertise and knowledge ensures that each recommendation incorporates all the different factors that are associated with managing HE and FE office space. This therefore enables our clients to confidently use this information for planning the present and future estate both efficiently and effectively.
Recent Office Utilisation Consultancy and Surveys carried out by Education Space Consultancy…
University of the West of England – October 2015
We recently successfully completed the University of the West of England Office Utilisation Survey contract, providing both a accurate and detailed, survey and reporting service. For this project we managed every aspect of the Office Utilisation Survey, providing a professional surveying and data collection service that include the counting of occupants in each office space, Monday – Friday 09-17:00. Each desk space was surveyed four times a day for 3 weeks with all data collected and made available to the University by the following week.
Education Space Consultancy also provided the University with a detailed Office Utilisation Consultancy Report, that recognised their objectives and included data analysis, conclusions and action focused recommendations that will help the University to plan the future estate effectively and make the most out of the space available.
Upon the successful completion of this project, Pete Sutherland has kindly provided the following testimonial;
“University of the West of England engaged Education Space Consultancy to undertake an office occupancy study for three weeks to inform our Professional Services project. This was looking to identify opportunities to reduce the number of fixed desks in a future move, so involved auditing several buildings and approximately 450 staff.
Ben and his team were very professional in their approach and undertook the surveys with discretion, always remaining mindful and respectful of the occupants’ concerns. We were given regular updates informing us of progress and any issues encountered and the reports that were submitted at the end of the study were very detailed and produced very quickly. I would not hesitate to use Ben and his team again for a similar exercise or indeed for our annual teaching room surveys, as I am certain ESC would do an excellent job.
