At Education Space Consultancy we offer a Timetable Scenario Modelling service that aims to determine whether a functioning timetable can be created given a client’s planned timetable demand, constraints and space restrictions.
We offer this service to the Higher Education, Further Education and School sectors.
Estate Construction/Refurbishment
We often deliver this service in conjunction with an estate construction/refurbishment project, incorporating the predicted timetable demand & constraints, with the planned number, type and capacity of teaching spaces.
We then test whether the predicted demand can be accommodated within a working timetable given these demands/constraints and if so, what timetable frequency, occupancy and utilisation rates are achieved during each timetable week, per space, space type and for the institution.
As part of this exercise, we can also determine the ideal combination of teaching spaces required and compare that against the planned provision, again helping to provide crucial information that can be used to improve the efficiency of the planned estate.
Changing Timetable Constraints
We have also delivered Timetable Scenario Modelling projects for institutions that are looking to test whether changes to timetable constraints will impact on their ability to create a functioning timetable.
Again, we create a working timetable that incorporates the new constraints, testing whether a working timetable can be created and what impacts the changes to constraints cause.
This enables our clients to ensure they are fully informed of the potential impacts of any planned changes to timetable constraints, before they are confirmed/rejected.
